God Has Trusted You

If you are a Christian God has entrusted you with something precious. He wants you to enjoy His precious Salvation AND He has trusted you to share it with others.

1 Thessalonians 2:4: But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

1 Timothy 1:11-12: According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

Titus 1:3: But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

1 Corinthians 9:16: For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

2 Corinthians 5:20: Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ*s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

We can pray for others to be saved. We can tell others what God has done for us.

Psalms 107:2a: Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, . . .

1 Peter 3:15: But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

It is God*s desire to make us soul-winners.

Mark 1:17: And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

2 Peter 1:5-8: And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We can support in prayer those that preach the gospel and help them financially.

Colossians 4:2-3: Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

Luke 10:2: Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

J. I. Packer:

Similarly, (to our responsibility to respond to the gospel) we ourselves have a responsibility for making the gospel known. Christ*s command to His disciples, Go ye . . . and make disciples . . . (Matthew 28:19), was spoken to them in their representative capacity; this is Christ*s command, not merely to the apostles, but to the whole church. Evangelism is the inalienable responsibility of every Christian community, and every Christian man. We are all under orders to devote ourselves to spreading the good news, and to use all our ingenuity and enterprise to bring it to the notice of the whole world. The Christian, therefore, must constantly be searching his conscience, asking himself if he is doing all that he might be doing in this field. For this also is a responsibility that cannot be shrugged off.

Are we willing to do what God has trusted us to do and enabled us to do?
